We install it, alter it, repair it and maintain it on business premises and managed sites. Two things separate commercial work from domestic. Scale, larger pipe sizes, longer runs, higher simultaneous demand, and access. Work has to happen when the premises can spare it, which often means evenings, weekends or staged shutdowns rather than a convenient weekday morning. We work directly for site owners, facilities managers and businesses, and as a subcontractor to larger mechanical firms who need plumbing labour on a package. RAMS are issued for commercial jobs so inductions and permits are not the thing holding up the programme. In detail ## Commercial plumbing in detail Materials, methods and the situations where each applies, the detail that determines whether a commercial water service performs under load. ### Pipework materials and methods Copper with soldered, brazed or press-fit joints, stainless and steel where the application demands it, and barrier-plastic push-fit or press systems where speed of installation and flexibility matter. Press-fit systems are often the right answer on occupied premises because they avoid hot works and the permits that come with them. Correct bracketing, expansion allowance, insulation on hot and cold services, and identification and labelling so the next person can isolate the right section without shutting the whole building down. ### Hot and cold water services Incoming main, boosted cold water where storey height or demand requires it, cold water storage, vented hot water cylinders, direct-fired and indirect water heaters, point-of-use heaters for remote outlets, secondary circulation with pumps and balancing valves, and thermostatic mixing valves where required. Dead legs, poor circulation and incorrect storage temperatures are the recurring faults we find on older systems, and all three are correctable during planned works. ### Washrooms, kitchens and sanitaryware WC suites, urinals and flush controls, wash basins, taps and sensor fittings, cleaner's sinks, commercial kitchen sinks and dishwasher connections, waste pipework, traps and connections to soil stacks. Refits are usually about access and downtime as much as the fittings themselves, so we stage them. ### Reactive repairs and leak tracing Burst pipework, weeping joints, failed valves, blocked wastes, faulty flush and fill valves, and cylinder failures. We isolate, make safe, then trace the cause, a repair that does not identify why the joint failed is a repeat visit waiting to happen. Where pipework has failed once through corrosion or mechanical stress, we tell you what condition the rest of that run is in. ### Fit-outs, refurbishments and alterations New tenant fit-outs, layout changes, adding or removing facilities, capping off redundant services properly and re-testing the altered installation. On multi-tenant buildings the isolation strategy matters as much as the pipework, because you cannot take neighbouring units off supply without notice. ### Residential and landlord work Domestic plumbing is smaller pipe sizes, single-dwelling demand and household access, usually one engineer, one visit. ### Commercial and industrial work Commercial work brings larger diameters, simultaneous demand calculations, boosted and stored systems, RAMS, permits, staged isolation and account billing.
