Every installation starts with sizing. The boiler is chosen against the property's heat loss and hot water demand, not by copying the output of whatever is on the wall now, because an oversized boiler short-cycles and an undersized one never satisfies the property. The quote is fixed and covers the whole job: boiler, flue route, gas supply where it needs upgrading, controls, system cleaning, a filter, safe removal of the old appliance and the commissioning paperwork. The number you agree is the number you pay. In detail ## Boiler installation in detail The differences below are what separate an installation that lasts from one that is back on the call-out list in its second winter. ### Boiler types we install Combi boilers, heating water on demand and suiting properties with one main bathroom; system boilers with a cylinder for larger households and multiple bathrooms; and heat-only (regular) boilers on traditional vented systems with a feed and expansion tank. As a Vaillant approved installer we fit Vaillant as our standard recommendation, and we will explain honestly where a different system type suits the property better than the one you already have. ### Flue, condensate and gas supply Flue routed and terminated to current standards, with clearances checked rather than assumed. Condensate run with fall and frost protection so it does not freeze and lock the boiler out in January. Gas supply checked against the appliance gas rate and upgraded where the existing pipe run cannot carry it. That work is priced in the quote, not discovered on the day. ### System cleaning and protection Power flush or chemical clean depending on the condition of the existing system, followed by inhibitor dosing and a magnetic filter fitted where the pipework allows. Where a system is beyond cleaning we say so and price the pipework or radiator work separately, so you can decide with the full picture. ### Controls and commissioning Programmable and smart thermostats, cylinder thermostats and zone valves configured so heating and hot water are not tied together unnecessarily. Commissioning covers gas tightness testing, gas rate, combustion analysis, functional testing of heating and hot water, benchmark completion and manufacturer registration. ### Residential and landlord work A straight swap in the same position is usually a one-day job.
